Chicago Harbor Lighthouse

Arda worked with the City of Chicago to develop a detailed conditions assessment at the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse. The Lighthouse was originally constructed in 1893 as part of the World’s Columbian Exposition, and moved to its current location 0.4 miles offshore from the east end of Navy Pier in 1917. The Lighthouse is a Chicago Landmark and is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The scope of work for the project included an assessment of the conditions of both the interior and exterior of the Lighthouse. The structural integrity of the rubble stone and concrete foundation and seawall were evaluated. Following the assessment, Arda issued a report detailing the findings and providing recommendations and related cost estimate for stabilization.
