Edward Torrez

President of Arda since 2014, Ed has played a pivotal role at the firm for several decades. In his current capacity, Ed provides both architectural and business leadership. He plays an active role in many of the firm’s projects with his skills in design, documentation, preservation, and stakeholder engagement. 

Nationally recognized for both design and advocacy in the field of historic preservation, Ed sits on the Board of Advisors of the National Trust of Historic Preservation and served as a Commissioner for the City of Chicago Landmarks under Richard M. Daley.

Ed studied music and architecture at the University of Illinois.  He is a Registered Architect in the State of Illinois, is a Self-Certified Architect with the City of Chicago, and exceeds the Federal Professional Qualification Standards (36 CFR Part 61) for Architecture and Historic Architecture.
