Robert Lindblom Technical High School - Chicago, Illinois

This Chicago Landmark was built in 1919 as one of Chicago’s leading vocational high schools. To meet the needs of college-bound students and changing demographics, Lindblom was re-envisioned in 2005 as a selective enrollment school with a focus on serving a college-bound African American student base in the economically-challenged Englewood neighborhood. In anticipation of this conversion, this magnificent structure received a complete interior and exterior renovation that included new math, science, and computer labs and the restoration of the theater for the school’s performing arts program. Since its conversion, the school has been a catalyst in the community for its groundbreaking curriculum served by this inspiring learning environment. It was recently listed as one of Illinois’s top 20 high schools by U.S. News and World Report.
