University of Illinois South Campus Redevelopment

A remarkable metropolitan transformation, the development of the South Campus at the University of Illinois at Chicago, was the culmination of nearly 30 years of long-range campus planning. As a part of the multi-faceted development team, Bauer Latoza Studio provided a master plan and design guidelines for the retail development, as well as leading the rehabilitation of five historic buildings, the construction of three new infill buildings, and the interior build-out of 92,000 square feet of office and retail spaces. Today the community centered around Halsted and Maxwell is a thriving commercial and residential district.
